Cancel a Customer Subscription

This quick step-by-step guide takes you through how to easily cancel customer subscriptions in Stripe.

Customers can easily cancel their subscription through the “My Accounts” section on your Neto store. However, there will be a few that will give you a call or email you and ask you to stop their subscription.

Here’s a quick and easy way to immediately stop a subscription:

Head over to Stripe’s website and log in.

Stripe is currently working on two versions. You will quickly work out which version you are on.

Below is a screenshot of the new version.

Click on “Customers” and then click on “Subscriptions”.

On the old version, look for “Billing” and then click on “Subscriptions”.

Now you should see a list of all the customers and their subscriptions.

On the line of the customer’s subscription you’d like to cancel, click on the dotted menu – i.e. the three dots “…” – on the far right-hand side.

Click on “Cancel subscription”.

And again on “Cancel subscription”.

If you see a checkbox asking you to “Bill now for outstanding balance“, please make sure this is not ticked.

You can also change the end date when the subscription will cancel.

If you are looking for a quicker way to cancel and it is a straightforward “cancel immediately”, then you can click on the “x” when you hover over the “…” menu item, as shown in the screenshot below.
